Which render regions map to which cloud providers?

I saw a post saying that render runs on top of GCP and AWS. But I haven’t been able to figure out which render regions map to GCP and which to AWS.

This is important because we host a large amount of static data in AWS (although we can easily switch between regions). We need our app to have access to it without paying huge bandwidth fees. So we need to ensure that our render cluster is living in an AWS data center. Please let me know if there is any way to figure this out. Thanks.

Thanks for reaching out.

If you signed up recently, your services will be using AWS. So the regions will map to the same AWS regions in:

  • Frankfurt (eu-central-1)
  • Ohio (us-east-2)
  • Oregon (us-west-2)
  • Singapore (ap-southeast-1)

Thanks, I appreciate the clarification. So there is not possibility of anything deploying to GCP on new accounts? I have to be very clear on that topic, since a mistake could potentially cost a lot of money in ingress fees. Also, are there any plans to add us-east-1 in the future?

Hi there - no, all new services will be deployed to AWS regions.
