Github integration seems to be broken

Issue:

I’m encountering a permissions issue after reinstalling the Render GitHub app for my organization.

Steps that led to the issue:

  1. Successfully set up a Render Blueprint using render.yaml - this worked perfectly

  2. Attempted to create a new Static Site from a different repository

  3. The target repository never appeared in the available repos list, despite multiple refresh attempts

  4. Uninstalled the Render GitHub app thinking a clean reinstall would resolve the issue

  5. Now when attempting to reinstall, I receive an error stating “only the organization owner can install this app”

Current situation:

  • I am an organization admin on GitHub (not just a member)

  • The organization owner is our company CEO who shouldn’t need to be involved in routine deployment tooling

  • I was able to install the app initially without issue

Question:

Is there a way to resolve this without requiring the organization owner to reinstall? This seems like it should be within an org admin’s permissions scope, especially since the initial installation didn’t require owner-level access.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

Possibly related: I cannot log in using github. I click the github login button but I just get redirected straight back to the login page. It does nothing. I thought maybe it would fix it if I logged in using github oauth but it doesn’t even let me log in.
