i was using Heroku background workers. I had heard about render from techcrunch. So i decided to try it. I gone to their pricing page and found out that background workers starts from $0/month. i was happy to see that so i decided to give render a try. But when i signed-up and wanted to run a background worker. I found out that they require $7/month minimum subscription. I was really fustrated that they are cheating to users.

Hey there, you’re absolutely right to call us out on that. Definitely not our intention to appear to be cheating you - we need to get the pricing page updated to reflect that background workers aren’t available on the free tier (at the moment)

it’s interesting that this is still an issue…
especially after heroku cancelling free tier.

Valid point.
We call out the limits of the plans when you open the ‘See pricing plans’ drop down but we could probably do better in the default state.
