Does 'deploy specific commit' work with deploy api?

this page describes how you can pass ?ref= parameter to deploy a commit,
does the same work with the API deploys? The docs don’t mention that but it sounds sensible that it should work.

Hey Anri,

Are you making reference to this API endpoint: https://api-docs.render.com/reference/create-deploy? If so, no you can’t use this endpoint to deploy a specific commit as we don’t support passing any reference to the commit_id. You’ll have to go the deploy hook route: https://render.com/docs/deploy-a-commit#deploying-a-commit-via-webhook
