Delays in Render's deployment infrastructure

I regularly see (in the Ohio region) unexplained pauses of several minutes between steps in Render’s build pipeline. This is frustrating, because it’s very hard to predict how long it will take to get even minimal changes released. It’s especially vexing because my team has put a lot of effort into improving our build/release speed, and we shouldn’t be held back by bottlenecks in Render’s infrastructure.

Here’s one example (of many) where a deployment spends 2 minutes and 40 seconds doing nothing at all:

This is so common that it’s more the rule than the exception, and seems to happen after the “Uploading Build” line (which often takes 20-50 times longer than the “uploaded in” message states) or or after the “Build Successful” line. These delays are significant enough that the status page should show Builds and Deploys as degraded.

Thanks!

Here’s another one from just now:

Hey,

Please reach out to us through the ‘Contact Support’ form for this. We’ve seen this happen before, and it can pop up now and then for different reasons. We might need to dig deeper into it, so it’s not something we can troubleshoot here on the community forum.

Will do. There are a lot of places to provide feedback, and it’s not clear which to use.
