Syncing PostgreSQL to Elastic (superuser config setting change required?)

Hi there, I’m trying to sync some of the data in a Render PostgreSQL database to Elastic to run search on it.

It’s failing, and on inspection it seems to be because it needs the “track_commit_timestamp” configuration parameter to be set.

It seems like here: Can we set Postgres Server Configuration properties? - #4 by dan there was a proposal to allow users to change those config params - does that exist now? If not, is it possible to change that parameter?

Thanks!

Hi Toby,

We can set this config for you. Could you open a support ticket from the dashboard and include the database ID you want it enabled for?

This config does require a database restart, i.e., a bit of downtime on the database. We’re able to make these changes pretty much 24/7 on weekdays. We don’t have coverage for this type of change over the weekends.

So if you could also let us know a convenient time for this when you open your support ticket, it would help expedite your request.

Regards,

Matt

Thank you!
