PostgreSQL outage Frankfurt 2023-04-23 18:10:46

Sentry and the uptime monitor reported that the web app could not reach the Postgres server for the duration of 5 minutes. There’s no info about this on https://status.render.com.

OperationalError: connection to server at “dpg-cahf9ukgqg49t4u99040-a” (x.x.x.x), port 5432 failed: Connection refused
Is the server running on that host and accepting TCP/IP connections?

What’s was the reason and can this be avoided in the future?

It looks like this was due to scheduled maintenance.

Notifications for these maintenance windows are sent to your Render account email for individual accounts, or to the email entered on your Team’s settings page.
