Hello I’m a new developer and I’m having an issue with my site redirection. I’m getting an Error 1000 from Cloudflare when attempting to access my domain. Before I go further I just wanted to say I have recently changed my Nameservers and changed the records a few hours ago. I acquired this site and took over web development for it. They were previously using hostgator and it came with an assortment of A/CNAME/MX/SRV/TXT records and I basically knocked out everything but the MX records and two txt records(I did change the path to google.com, they use Google Workspace and I’m doing my best to at least keep that up). At this point my site has one A name pointing to the ip Render gave, a CNAME pointing to my project, the mx records, and two txt records. However, after some experimentation, I placed the Cloudflare settings back to default. It’s a simple front-end Nextjs project that doesnt have any subdomains or server functionality. I have a second render project with similar settings and it propagated fine and it is currently live with its domain. I have no idea what to do to proceed here. I did contact Render for support but I dont know how active they are. This I hope can be resolved quickly and I’d be happy to provide any information necessary. Checking WhatsMyDNS shows the records and values are propagating. Is it an issue where I solely need to wait and it’ll resolve itself? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
I dont remember encountering this error with my other project(that I can remember) but there was an error I resolved by connecting the domain and verifying it, after that it propagated fairly quickly. I didnt have any access to the records at all before redirecting the Nameserver to Cloudflare.
Hi there,
This issue generally occurs because your domain points to a Cloudflare IP address, but Cloudflare doesn’t know anything about your domain. This can often happen when your domain hasn’t been added to your Render app, so we haven’t added it to Cloudflare yet.
