Urgent: Need to Recover Lost Files from Render Disk or Persistent Storage

Hi Render Support,

I recently moved my Node.js application from Render’s internal server to an NGINX-based setup. Previously, all uploaded images and files from the site were being saved directly on the server (in the public directory). Unfortunately, since the migration, all user-uploaded content has been lost because there was no backup stored externally.

It appears that Render’s disk storage is ephemeral, and we were not using a persistent volume. However, I am hoping that there might still be a way to retrieve those files.

Do you offer any way to:

  • Recover files or directories that were previously stored on the disk?
  • Access or download the full contents of the project’s disk from a specific deployment or build?
  • Restore data from a previous deployment or cached layer?

This is critical for our production data, and we would greatly appreciate any help or advice on recovering the missing files.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Best regards,
Azad
