Does render keep any backups or caches of files on web services?

Hi,

I have made a really stupid mistake that has resulted in my losing some user uploaded data on my website.

I was using a json file to store some image uploads without any backing up to disk. Just a complete novice error.

When the server was redeployed from GitHub after infrastructure maintenance that json file was reset back to empty.

I opened a support ticket but I’m really desperate to find out if it’s even possible I could recover an older state of that file

Hi there,

I’m sorry, but due to our ephemeral filesystem, unless files are written to a disk-backed service, restarts to service will lose any changes to the filesystem. We can’t retrieve these files.
