Does Render use the Cloudfalre WAF?

Hi,

I know Render provides DDOS protection via Cloudflare but I’m wondering what else is provided.

Is the Cloudflare WAF also activated or should I add my own Cloudflare setup to use it?

I’m asking because I’m seeing lots of bot signups for my app and am wondering if adding Cloudflare on top of Render would help.

Hi Benjamin,

We suggest setting up your own Cloudflare instance if you’re experiencing a surge of unwanted bot traffic on your site. Render’s primary use of Cloudflare is to protect against malicious traffic and DDOS attacks. However, in the future, we do want to give our users more control over their settings since our customers have a wide range of use cases and needs.
