Ffmpeg in Node.js environment runtime limit

Hi team,

I have an API file to run ffmpeg (actually this is the reason that I decided to use Render since ffmpeg is already part of your native environment). My job killed out due to runtime limit I guess, that was the reason I upgraded my project to Starter package, still could not finalize the job. What are the runtime limits for each tier?

Thanks!

Hi there,

Generally, with FFMPEG, memory is the limit you run into issues with. Moving from a free instance to a starter instance doesn’t give you any more memory. You only get 512MB. The specs of each instance type can be found on our pricing page: https://render.com/pricing#services
