However when visiting https://beta.my-domain.com it does not forward to https://www.beta.my-domain.com as suggsted in the dashboard and the docs.

If you are using Chrome (after version 76), it will hide “www” in the address bar.
“www” will appear when you start to edit address.
Or you can check with Firefox (latest version 84) which doesn’t hide “www”.

On mobile Chrome the certificate shows https://beta.orangerie.com
and if one copies the link from the URL bar it copies it, as https://beta.orangerie.com.
On desktop Chrome it works so I guess this is problem with mobile chrome then.
