Since scaling needs to go through the load balancer (according to the scaling diagram in the doc page), does this mean it wont work with CloudFlare since CF is directed to my subdomain instead of the load balancer?

Scaling occurs inside our network, so the request goes through Cloudflare and enters our network and from there it goes via a load balancer so when you scale up the requests are routed between the instances you have scaled to run,
